two chicks write some LARPs
and maybe even run them
Stuff that we're running! In locations! On days, at times! Well, hypothetically.
So we haven't finalized our re-runs for 2012 yet, but we had a bout of insanity and bid a whole new game for SLAW in November:
Some say the gods have turned their eyes from the world, in the last few years. And perhaps there are those who would prefer it that way. The two largest human nations, the Domisian Empire and the warring Khen of the steppes, have held an uneasy stalemate for generations, struggling over the territory of the smaller countries trapped in between. But some believe that Domisia moves now towards outright war, with the recent destruction of one city-state and the annexation of another.
Tonight may break this uneasy stalemate, for better or for worse. Political and religious leaders have gathered on neutral territory, within the embassy of an independent nation in the Domisian prefecture of Sheraga, for what is hoped to be a peace talk. But peace is difficult to achieve, with so many striving against it.
And what few of them realize is that tonight, the stakes may be far higher than the mere boundaries of human nations.
While Their Eyes are Closed is a high-fantasy saga of politics, intrigue, magic, passion, and secrets. This game is recommended for players 16 or older, due to the presence of some adult themes. (As a note, there are a large number of neutral roles in this game. These characters are just as complicated and involved as their gender-fixed counterparts, can be played as male or female at the player's choice, and will not be limited or disempowered by being played as female.)
As far as re-runs go: we have no firmly set dates yet, but we do know this: we want to re-run A Crown of Hearts, Folding the River, and The Sound of Drums at some point in 2012. Julia, another short fangirl may also do a semi-independent run of Stars Over Atlantis at some point.
Tentatively, we're thinking of running River back to back with Alleged Entertainment's Garden of Forking Paths at some point during the summer in a private residence, Drums in the early fall in outdoor gamespace, and Crowns at SLAW in Worcester in November. But this isn't set in stone. We might also rerun The All Crotchety Old Folks With Shotguns Game at SLAW because why the fuck not.
